CARINE’S PRIORITIES FOR ARIZONA

Protect our Neighborhoods

Carine has championed legislation to protect children from sex offenders, made our schools safer, and provided funding for law enforcement. Safe neighborhoods will always be a top priority – and Carine has proven her commitment to protecting our families, schools, and community. Proudly endorsed by the Arizona Police Association, Arizona State Troopers, the Fraternal Order of Police, she has earned their support through commonsense reforms and consistent support. One of the first bills Carine introduced increased penalties on drug dealers and anyone who provides fentanyl to kids because safe schools and neighborhoods are the cornerstone of a successful district.

Increase Affordability

  • Champion a Low-Tax, Business-Friendly Economy

  • Encourage Job Growth

  • Lower the Cost of Living

  • Support Workforce Development and Educational Opportunity

Rising costs remain one of the biggest challenges facing Arizona. Housing is harder to afford, grocery bills are higher than ever, and childcare costs place pressure on families. As a small business owner, Carine understands how rising expenses affect residents and local employers trying to keep their doors open. She is working to reduce costs by passing one of the largest tax cuts in Arizona history, targeting Medicaid fraud, and reducing regulatory burdens to allow businesses to grow and thrive. District 4 needs an entrepreneurial, small-business mindset to help our economy grow and relieve the burden of high costs on our families.

Create Strong Schools

  • Increase Teacher Pay

  • Empower Parents

  • Protect School Choice

  • Improve Transparency and Accountability

As a parent of three (graduated) public school students and school board member, Carine has seen firsthand the importance of great teachers and funding directly into the classroom. She has dedicated her time at the Capitol to ensuring our children have a safe learning environment, increasing standards for reporting abuse, and fighting to keep our public schools open. In fact, when three of her colleagues voted to close two SUSD public schools, Carine fought the closures and suggested alternative transparency and accountability cost saving measures. School curriculum should focus on traditional learning and high standards, teaching our kids how to think and problem-solve, not simply teach to a test. Ultimately parents know what is best for their child and should have the freedom to select the educational solution that fits their learning style best.

Arizona Values

As an immigrant, mom of three, small business owner, and school board member, Carine has seen how decisions made at the Capitol impact families, classrooms, and local businesses. Arizona needs commonsense leadership that is able to work with both parties to get things done. Carine has more than 21 bills signed by the Democratic Governor, highlighting the importance of putting politics aside to do what is best for our district. From defending our traditional values to protecting girl’s sports, Carine is a proven leader we need at the Capitol.

Water and Infrastructure

Historic drought and control of water sources outside Arizona have led to all-time lows in our water supply. While Arizona uses roughly the same amount of water we did 60 years ago, we need leaders who will fight for the future of our water supply - not let other states dictate our allocation. Carine understands the importance of reliable water, not just to Arizona families, but our businesses and agricultural industry as well. A critical step in water conservation, Carine voted to end subsidies for data centers.

At the same time, Carine has made critical investments in our roads and infrastructure to ensure we have access to safe roads, internet, and travel hubs that power the economic engine in Arizona.
